The plant operations committee organizes activities that enhance wastewater operators' skills and knowledge. At the annual conference, the committee creates an “operations challenge” open to all attendees and provides awards for the top participants. The committee also puts together a yearly plant operations workshop which spotlights a wastewater treatment plant and includes an educational session followed by a tour of the facility. The committee sources “plant profiles” for publication in the organization newsletter, The Clarifier. The committee also plans and hosts Continuing Education (CEUs) webinars to assist operators in meeting the IEPA Wastewater Operator Certification requirements.
