Programming Agenda:

Village of Bartlett Wastewater Improvements Simplify Operation While Providing Biological Nutrient Removal Flexibility
Phil Severson, Project Manager at Strand Associates, Inc.

The Bartlett Bittersweet Water Reclamation Facility required significant upgrades to address aging infrastructure, convoluted processes, and maintenance issues. The facility aimed to enhance effluent quality, increase wet-weather capacity to 20.5 MGD, and reduce energy use through automation and efficiency. The project’s biological nutrient removal design provides the flexibility to operate in the A2O process mode and allows for implementation of sidestream enhanced biological phosphorus removal (S2EBPR)/RAS fermentation
