WILD Panel at FIA Expo Chicago: Creating More Balanced Boards
10/30/2019
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
While studies have shown that diversity on Boards leads to better decision making and improved corporate performance, as of 2018, women made up only roughly 22% of Fortune 500 Boards and only 15% of the board seats at the top 200 companies in the S&P 500 were held by racial minorities. Though this represents an improvement over the last decade, and change is coming from new quarters such as the recent California mandate that all locally headquartered publicly traded companies have at least one female director by 2020, more must be done in order for Boards to be truly representative.

As the industry strives to promote diversity in their management and on their Boards, this panel will bring together current Board members and diversity experts to look at why more egalitarian Boards matter, strategies for improving Board culture and ways the industry can work together to create more balanced Boards.

Panel Leader: Diane Saucier, WILD Board Member and  Senior Solutions Marketing Manager, Financial Services, Hitachi Vantara

Panel:
Elizabeth Cook; Board Member, CME Group
Mary McDonnell; Founder and President, McDonnell and Associates and Member of the Board of Directors, NFA
Deborah DeHaas; Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner Center for Board Effectiveness, Deloitte
