Description:

Participants may fire up to 3 pieces that are less than 10" tall and 6" wide.  Clay pieces must be made of WS-5 or other grogged clay and polished with terra sigillata before special bisque firing.  Place prepared work on window ledge for special ^08 firing. 

After heating in the outdoor gas kiln, items are either coated with a special mixture of yeast, flour, sugar and water, then quenched in water, or splashed with the mixture and quenched in water.  The results are cream, tan, brown and black stretchy marks on the clay surface.
