Description:
Child forensic interviews often provide key evidence to guide further investigation and to support decisions made about whether to pursue criminal prosecutions in cases involving maltreatment, exploitation, or exposure to violence, as well as civil child protection interventions. Consequently, many professionals have an interest in how these interviews are conducted and can benefit from an understanding of best practices in child forensic interviewing. This knowledge-based training will provide an overview of foundational principles and basic concepts for any professional who wishes to learn about current best practices in child forensic interviewing and APSAC’s 2023 Practice Guidelines on Forensic Interviewing of Children.

Presenters: Patti Toth, JD & Liz Ghilardi, MSW, LCSW
