Description:
This class will provide hands on instruction for students who wish to advance their throwing and shaping techniques for making larger and taller forms. Participants should be able to throw using up to 3 pounds of clay prior to taking this class.  This class focuses on different shapes, complexity and creativity of pieces.  Highly recommend completion of Wheel 1 and 2 or have equivalent skills.

Participants will learn:
- how to use specific hand positions and tools
- techniques for forming shapes
- how to use increasing amounts of clay to throw (3 pounds and greater)
- trimming a foot
- pulling mug handles
- using griffin grip
- using different surface treatments
- other skills as determined by instructor

Upon completion participants should be able to make medium sized vases and bowls, tall cylinders.




Materials:
Clay, pin tool, ribs, cutters, and other tools as requested/ suggested by instructor during class.

Class Information:
- Skill level:  Competent skill level associated with Wheel 2
- Number of Students:  Minimums and maximums below 6 as determined by instructor.
