Class Date and Time: January 20, 22, 27 and 29, 2026. 6PM -9PM



Description
Using the students' shapes, the effects of using stain versus underglazes in a painterly fashion will be explored.

Students will decorate at least two pieces, either hand built or wheel thrown. The pieces can be made during class or brought to class. Pieces need to be LEATHER HARD (not fired).  The focus will be on decorating each piece using underglazes, using specific techniques and glazes. 


Participants will learn:
- to use glazes and stains in a painterly fashion 


Materials:
Students will bring one or two shapes that they can explore the use of stains or underglazes.


Class Information:
  • Pre-requisites:  Participants will need to have at least two classes working with clay commonly stocked at Grand Clay Arts.  It can be hand building or combination of hand building and throwing.
