Event Description
TRY IT event 
Course Fee:                  No cost
Date and Time:             Feb 21 3:00-5:00;   Feb 22 fire, 2026;  8:00-11:00 at Raku firing station 

Description:

Saggar firing is a technique where a piece of pottery is wrapped in foil (Saggar) with chemicals and combustible materials. They are then placed in a kiln and slowly fired to about 1350 degrees F. Aluminum foil is used to create the saggars. This TRY IT session will include some soft clay and/or paper bag Saggar. 

To TRY IT you can come and watch and participate in the PREP session by embellishing pieces and then come on Sunday and watch it get fired. Paid participants will make extra pieces for the TRY IT participants to work on. All finished pieces belong to the artist or will be donated to Plates of Plenty. 

To participate you must sign up. 

Notice: 
- on prep day, and fire day students must wear old clothes and shoes, gloves and a mask

Participation is limited to 6 so those wishing to try it must sign up.
