SDMBA’s 18th Annual Archipelago Ride – April 25, 2026
Welcome to registration for the 2026 Archipelago Ride! Join over 500 riders for San Diego’s iconic annual mountain bike ride!
The Archipelago Ride is SDMBA’s signature fundraising event – bringing riders together to cross San Diego County on trails, celebrate our riding community, and support the advocacy and trail work that makes it all possible. Why is it called the Archipelago Ride? This annual adventure highlights the need for trail connectivity by linking the "islands" of open space together!
Overview:
Registration is pretty simple, but we have a new pricing structure to make it easier on your wallet to join in on the fun. Here's what to expect:
- Three pricing tiers, open to all. The earlier you register, the better the value.
- Super Early Bird – Jan 21 to Jan 27 (one week of the best deals this year!)
- Early Bird – Jan 28 to Feb 10
- General – Feb 11 to Apr 19
- You'll only see the current tier when registering.
- Teen rates (18 & under): to better support families riding together. *All minors must ride with a guardian.*
- 6-Pack group pricing: for committed crews who want the best value! One person signs up all 6 riders at once.
- To make wrangling your crew easier, we made the 6-Pack Info Sheet for you to use. Give it a try!
- Member rates: SDMBA members always save on event registration
Register early for the best values!

The Fine Print:
Rules and Requirements
- Both routes are point-to-point. Plan transportation and carpools accordingly. Common solutions include:
- Drop a car at the finish line and carpool with another rider to the start. Finish the ride and carpool back to the start after enjoying the Finish Line Luau!
- Park at the start and arrange a shuttle back to the start with friends/family
- Chat on the 2026 Arch Ride facebook group and find some shuttle buddies!
- Helmets are required while riding
- Class 1 and 2 eBikes are allowed on both routes
- Registered participants will receive a detailed email about a week in advance of the ride with final route updates and map files.
- Minors under 18 entered in the event must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian for their entire ride. No exceptions.
- No refunds or rollovers for this event. SDMBA reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any event because of, but not limited to, inclement weather, emergency, land manager policy or natural disaster. In the event of such a cancellation, there will be no refund or rollover of entry to a future event. SDMBA reserves the right to modify or cancel the course for safety concerns, trail condition concerns or natural disaster. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid. If you are unable to attend an event for which you have registered, your entry fee is considered a tax-deductible donation to SDMBA. Entry fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, starting well in advance of the event date – including course preparation, supplies, permits, and administration. We will make every effort to produce a safe event for all participants. Any decision we make that impacts the event date or potential cancellation is carefully considered and based on the overall event safety, sustainability, and manageability.
- We do, however, understand that “life” happens…The following exceptions will be considered:
- Unscheduled military service – please provide a copy of your orders
- Debilitating injury or illness – please provide a doctor’s note
- Death of immediate family member – understanding this is a sensitive situation, SDMBA will work with you; some sort of verification may be requested
- Email archride@sdmba.com within two weeks after the event to request consideration of refund or deferment
- Entry Transfers: If a registered rider cannot participate for any reason, their registration may be transferred to another rider. This transfer request must be made at least 14 days before the event. For any transfers, please contact archride@sdmba.com. SDMBA is not responsible for transferring the registration fee – this will have to be handled between the riders.
