Course Description
This 12-hour continuing education course is designed to enhance the chiropractic physician’s ability to assess clinical risk, recognize red flag presentations, and deliver safe, appropriate, and evidence-informed chiropractic care. The course emphasizes diagnostic reasoning, patient safety, and adherence to accepted standards of chiropractic practice.

Instruction includes an overview of cervical artery dissection and stroke risk, spinal manipulation safety, functional neurology principles relevant to chiropractic care, and appropriate standards of care. The course integrates current scientific literature, clinical assessment strategies, informed consent considerations, and documentation practices. Emphasis is placed on clinical decision-making, patient selection, referral thresholds, and risk mitigation strategies consistent with the role of chiropractors as portal-of-entry providers.

This course is intended to improve patient outcomes, enhance clinical judgment, and support compliance with professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities.
