3/20/2026
12:00 PM EST

Location: CUNY School of Medicine, 160 Convent Ave, New York, NY 10031

Event Description
The Gotham Data Clinic (GDC) and Interdisciplinary Guided Network for Investigation, Translation and Evidence (IGNITE) are excited to host our inaugural symposium The Common Ground at the CUNY–School of Medicine on Friday 3/20 from 12–5pm. We're inviting the vibrant Open Science community in NYC to discuss community engagement, science education, and trust in science.

There will be ample opportunities to mingle with scientists, non-profits, and educators and we have a fantastic panel line-up of community leaders from NY Hall of Science, NYU Tandon, BetaNYC and BioBus.

This symposium will be a great opportunity for you to
  • share the challenges in STEM education and community engagement
  • discuss ways to promote civic engagement and to bridge the fractured scientific information environment
  • present work you've done though posters and lightning talks
  • meet other STEM leaders in NYC to inspire your next project
