The Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice (American Psychological Association Division 37), the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the New York Foundling, and the National Initiative to End Corporal Punishment are pleased to offer the following CEU-eligible webinar:
 
No Hit Zones: Low-Cost, Low-Effort Interventions to Reduce the Hitting of Children in Our Communities
 
February 9th, 2021, 2 pm to 4 pm Eastern

Speakers: Elizabeth Gershoff, PhD, is President of the Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice (Division
37 of the American Psychological Association), Director of the Population Research Center, and the Amy
Johnson McLaughlin Centennial Professor of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of
Texas at Austin. Dr. Gershoff will review the research indicating that physical punishment is harmful to
children as well as the research she has conducted on No Hit Zones.

Stacie LeBlanc, MEd, JD, the Chair of the National No Hit Zone Committee and the President of the American
Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, will describe the steps of implementing and evaluating a No Hit
Zone, will present examples of materials used to make families aware of the No Hit Zone policies, and will
identify ways that psychologists can promote and utilize No Hit Zones in settings in which they work and visit.

Attendees will be eligible for 2 Continuing Education Credits (Social Work and Psychology) at a cost of $20.
