Event Description
Happy Holidays everyone! To help get the  chapter rebooted we are offering this complimentary educational session.  Consider it our gift to you this holiday season! Please join us for this session and share with anyone who is not a member, but may be interested in joining next year.  We are excited to get back to our normal flow of meetings now that we have a board in place to help drive things forward. Location may change! Registration is required even though it is no cost.  This is a great opportunity to earn credits towards recertification.

Session Overview
Leadership development is no longer just about managing tasks—it's about unlocking potential through mentoring and coaching. In this combined session, HR professionals will explore the interconnected roles of coaching and mentoring in creating high-performance, inclusive workplaces. By empowering leaders to become mentors and coaches, organizations can drive personal and professional growth while fostering an environment where all team members feel valued, supported, and equipped to succeed.

Speaker: Angela Hummel

An experienced Talent Development and Human Resources Leader with a passion for leadership development, Angela has served in both director- and executive-level roles in multiple industries, including healthcare and banking. She enjoys helping individuals and organizations reach their full potential through coordinated learning, development, and change initiatives and runs her own coaching and consulting practice based in Northumberland, Pennsylvania.

Angela holds certifications in Talent Development (CPTD), Human Resources (SHRM-SCP and SPHR), Coaching (RCC and CBC), and Virtual Facilitation (CVF), earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts Degree in Communication Studies, both from Bloomsburg University, and completed a Graduate Certificate in Organization Development and Change with a Consulting Focus from Penn State University. Angela uses several assessments in her practice and is certified in DiSC and 5 Languages of Appreciation at Work.

Angela was named to the 50 to Follow Women-Owned Business list (2021) and was awarded the Leadership Susquehanna Valley Guy Temple Award (2014). She was honored with the Athena Leadership Award in 2016 and has a commitment to serving leaders in our local community and beyond.

Angela serves on the local board for the Susquehanna Human Resources Association and is currently the President Elect. Angela is also Director of Media Relations for the Pennsylvania State Council of SHRM. She joined national SHRM as an instructor in 2024 and will begin facilitating virtual and in-person courses in Spring 2025. She currently serves as the board chairperson for the Getting Ahead Foundation and is also a board and executive committee member for the Susquehanna Valley United Way and co-chairs Women United.

In addition to running her coaching and consulting practice, she is employed as a part-time Course Facilitator for eCornell at Cornell University in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Human Resources Leadership learning verticals.
