Join us on May 3, 2025 and take part in SDMBA’s legendary ride 

across the county on dirt
 

Get ready to rev up your Aloha spirit for the 17th (ish) Annual Archipelago Ride! SDMBA’s biggest annual fundraiser, the Arch Ride brings the community together for the ultimate mountain bike ride across San Diego County. Why is it called the Archipelago Ride? Affectionately known as the “Arch Ride”, this adventure attempts to keep the dream of trail connectivity alive by linking the "islands" of open space together! 

Following last year’s route across the Alps of Poway with a Full Arch Route of 45+ miles and a Half Arch Route of 22+, the Arch Ride is your chance to cross the county on trails and earn those ales at the fun Finish Line Luau at Gravity Heights. 

Which Arch Ride will test your mettle?

The Full Arch (Ride with GPS Route)

  • Starts at Sycamore Canyon/Goodan Ranch & ends at Gravity Heights 

  • 45+ miles, 5,000+ feet of climbing

  • 4 festive aid stations

Half Arch (Ride with GPS Route)

  • Starts at Black Mountain at Sun Devil Way & ends at Gravity Heights

  • 22+ miles, 2,000+ feet of climbing

2 festive aid stations
 
Ebikes (class 1 and 2) are permitted on both routes.

Not a member yet? That's ok! During registration, you will be prompted to join!  Basic annual membership is only $49. Then you automatically get the $40 discount on event registration! Our special Join and Ride rate means you can ride the Arch and become a member for only $9 more than the non-member rate! 

There is NO Day of Event Registration. There are NO refunds. There are NO rollovers/deferments in case of date change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

With a gorgeous design from local artist David Lozeau, we’re happy to have another awesome keepsake shirt you can wear with pride to show how you rolled.

T-Shirts:  Available for pre-order during the registration process for $25 each until April 13, 2025. Tshirts can be picked up at the Finish Line Luau on May 3!

JERSEYS: Pre-order your 2025 Archipelago Ride jersey so you can be in the tropical spirit for the event!  Two designs offered in Men's and Women's styles. Jersey orders will be shipped directly to you from Q Cyclewear.
Pre-order store will be open until April 13, 2025 so order now to ensure timely delivery!

There will be a limited number of jerseys and T-shirts for purchase at the Finish Line Luau on the day of the event.


RULES and Requirements

  • Both routes are point-to-point. Transportation is the participant's responsibility.  Plan transportation and carpools accordingly.
  • Helmets required
  • E-bikes are permitted for use on the Full Arch Route and the Half Arch Route
  • Registered participants will receive a detailed email on Monday, April 28 with route description and updates and updated map files. 
  • Minors under 18 entered in the event must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian for their entire ride.  No exceptions. 
  • BACK UP DATE:  May 17, 2024 (hopefully we don't need this! Consider this your notice and mark the date just in the remote case that we have to postpone the ride (see refund and rollover details below). 
  • No Refunds or rollovers for this event.  SDMBA reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any event because of, but not limited to, inclement weather, emergency, Land manager policy or natural disaster. In the event of such a cancellation, there will be no refund or rollover of entry to a future event. SDMBA reserves the right to modify or cancel the course for safety concerns, trail condition concerns or natural disaster. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid.  If you are unable to attend an event for which you have registered, your entry fee is considered a tax-deductible donation to SDMBA. Entry fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, starting well in advance of the event date – including course preparation, supplies, permits, and administration. We will make every effort to produce a safe event for all participants. Any decision we make that impacts the event date or potential cancelation is carefully considered and based on the overall event safety, sustainability, and manageability. 
  • We do, however, understand that “life” happens…The following exceptions will be considered:
    • Unscheduled military service – please provide a copy of your orders
    • Debilitating injury or illness – please provide a doctor’s note
    • Death of immediate family member – understanding this is a sensitive situation, SDMBA will work with you; some sort of verification may be requested
    • COMPLETE THIS FORM to request consideration of refund or deferment. 
      All refund and deferment requests must be submitted within two weeks after the event. Processing of refunds and deferments will commence 30 days after the event.

  • TRANSFER to another Rider: If a registered riders cannot participate for any reason, their registration may be transferred to another rider provided this transfer request is made at least 14 days before the event.  For any transfers, please contact eventregistration@sdmba.com to update rider information 14 days before the event.  SDMBA is not responsible for transferring the registration fee as this will have to be handled between the riders.
