SDMBA’s 18th Annual Archipelago Ride – April 25, 2026

Welcome to registration for the 2026 Archipelago Ride! Join over 500 riders for San Diego’s iconic annual mountain bike ride!

The Archipelago Ride is SDMBA’s signature fundraising event – bringing riders together to cross San Diego County on trails, celebrate our riding community, and support the advocacy and trail work that makes it all possible. Why is it called the Archipelago Ride? This annual adventure highlights the need for trail connectivity by linking the "islands" of open space together!

    • Park at the start and arrange a shuttle back to the start with friends/family
    • Chat on the 2026 Arch Ride facebook group and find some shuttle buddies!
  • Helmets are required while riding
  • Class 1 and 2 eBikes are allowed on both routes
  • Registered participants will receive a detailed email about a week in advance of the ride with final route updates and map files.
  • Minors under 18 entered in the event must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian for their entire ride. No exceptions.
  • No refunds or rollovers for this event. SDMBA reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any event because of, but not limited to, inclement weather, emergency, land manager policy or natural disaster. In the event of such a cancellation, there will be no refund or rollover of entry to a future event. SDMBA reserves the right to modify or cancel the course for safety concerns, trail condition concerns or natural disaster. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid.  If you are unable to attend an event for which you have registered, your entry fee is considered a tax-deductible donation to SDMBA. Entry fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, starting well in advance of the event date – including course preparation, supplies, permits, and administration. We will make every effort to produce a safe event for all participants. Any decision we make that impacts the event date or potential cancellation is carefully considered and based on the overall event safety, sustainability, and manageability.
  • We do, however, understand that “life” happens…The following exceptions will be considered:
    • Unscheduled military service – please provide a copy of your orders
    • Debilitating injury or illness – please provide a doctor’s note
    • Death of immediate family member – understanding this is a sensitive situation, SDMBA will work with you; some sort of verification may be requested
    • Email archride@sdmba.com within two weeks after the event to request consideration of refund or deferment
  • Entry Transfers: If a registered rider cannot participate for any reason, their registration may be transferred to another rider. This transfer request must be made at least 14 days before the event. For any transfers, please contact archride@sdmba.com. SDMBA is not responsible for transferring the registration fee – this will have to be handled between the riders.

I hereby represent that (i) I am in good health and physically fit to participate in the Event; and (ii) have not been advised against participating in the Event by a qualified health professional. I agree that it is my sole responsibility to determine whether I am sufficiently fit and healthy enough to participate in the Event.

Such risks that I agree to ASSUME AND AM HEREBY RESPONSIBLE FOR include, but are not limited to, injury, death, or property damage resulting from the negligence of ANY PERSON (including the negligence of an entity such as SDMBA); hidden, latent, or obvious conditions or defects in the land or equipment used while participating in the Event; the inherent and non-inherent risks associated with cycling activities or trail work activities, and any other risks that may be associated with the Event.

Accordingly, I hereby EXPRESSLY WAIVE ANY CLAIM OF LIABILITY AND FOREVER RELEASE AND DISCHARGE SDMBA; and their respective directors, officers, employees, liaisons, members, agents, volunteers, sponsors, promoters, and affiliates, as well as the landowners upon whose land the Event takes place (collectively, the “Released Parties”) FROM ANY AND ALL claims and liabilities arising out of the Released Parties’ negligence or the negligence of any other person who causes me to sustain injuries, death, or property damages during the Event.

This Agreement is intended to completely release the Released Parties from any and all liability for personal injuries, death, or property damage sustained while participating in the Event, regardless of whose negligence caused such injuries or damages and regardless of whether I was engaged in cycling activities or trail work activities. Further, I agree that this Agreement is also binding upon my heirs, distributees, guardians, legal, representatives, and assigns.

If the Event is cancelled or altered as described above, no refunds, credits or transfers will be issued, granted or permitted.

IV.  Indemnity: If my acts or omissions during the Event cause another person injury and there is a claim against the Released Parties for such injury, I agree to defend the Released Parties and indemnify the Released Parties for any and all expenses or liabilities resulting from such claims. Further, I agree to indemnify the Released Parties for all medical or property expenses that they may incur due to my participation in the Event.

V. Publicity Release: I grant SDMBA the right to take photographs or video of me in connection with the Event.
