JTAC Luncheon December 12, 2018
12/12/2018

Event Description

JTAC Presentation  Lumps, Bumps, Bruises and Scrapes: Collaborative (Alternative)
Delivery Lessons Learned
Wednesday, December 12, 2018

With a major wave of utility Owners in the region testing the waters on the use of project delivery  methods other than traditional design‐bid‐build, this month’s luncheon will be focused on alternate  project delivery. Come and learn from two of the most experienced practitioners here in Colorado. In  addition, hear the experiences of the City of Loveland on their first collaborative delivery of capital  improvement projects. This discussion will cover many diverse aspects of capital projects delivery,  including everything from municipal code/ordinance implications, to financial tracking/reporting, and to  the importance of pre‐construction collaboration with operations/engineering/construction input.  These collaborative delivery approaches have broad impacts on project execution, and this topic should  be of interest to key stakeholders, such as city managers/leaders, purchasing agents, operations staff,  engineering, and general contractors.

Early adopters and long‐time practitioners of alternate delivery, Larry Wyeno (City of Longmont) and  Owen Randall (Fort Collins Utilities), will bring their many years of lessons learned to the table. They will  highlight some of their recommendations as your organization considers potentially embarking on one  of the many flavors of delivery models that can offer significant benefits, such as cost surety, improved  quality, and compressed schedule.  Brian Gandy, of the City of Loveland, will also share his City’s  experience with their first ever collaborative delivery approach (CMAR) on one of their largest and most  complex projects.

The format for this luncheon will be three presentations, one by each of the above highlighted speakers,  followed by a brief round‐table discussion, addressing questions from attendees and hopefully  generating some lively discussions.  We hope you can join us!!!
