Stop Writing Bad Mitigation Measures!!
6/16/2023 - 6/16/2023
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM PST

Event Description
Join the Monterey Bay-Silicon Valley Chapter of AEP for our latest virtual lunch briefing! Are you writing bad mitigation measures or know others who are? Stop it! This session is geared towards CEQA practitioners that work on tailoring project specific mitigation measures. Darcy Kremin and Florentina Craciun are here to help you write feasible, tangible, and trackable mitigation measures. We will review the 'DOs' and 'DON'Ts' of deferred mitigation and how to capture the essence of mitigation measures. Sometimes we do not know when or even how those measures will be implemented in the future, therefore we need to tailor mitigation measures that allow for flexibility. In this lunch briefing, we will describe the good, the bad and horrendous mitigation measures we encountered. We will take those measures, word for word, and point out common and not-so-common mistakes, and how to fix them before we ever publish a CEQA document. This briefing is both for well and under seasoned CEQA professionals.
