Laying the Foundation for Strong Michigan Downtowns & Their Management
Successful downtown organizations provide strong leadership, innovative programming, and sustainable initiatives. The MDA’s Annual Summer Workshop will give you the building blocks needed to promote, improve, and strengthen the downtown and YOU. Our experts will present examples of real projects, ideas that work, and the tools necessary to build and grow a strong Michigan downtown.
The Summer Workshop will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, in beautiful downtown Harbor Springs. The event will be held at the Holy Childhood of Jesus Community Center, 150 West Main Street, Harbor Springs.
Continental Breakfast and lunch during the Workshop, May 31, and a networking event held on Thursday, May 30, in downtown Harbor Springs and is included in the registration fee.

We have events planned on Thursday, May 30. Registration and/or R.S.V.P. can be found at the end of the Workshop registration process.
3:00 pm- 5:00 pm The Pointer
This special ticketed event begins at The Pier Restaurant where the historic Pointer boat is docked. The exclusive tour will hug the shoreline of Harbor Springs’ Little Traverse Bay, Harbor Point, and Wequetonsing. Three, 45-minute boat tours will be offered, each holding 12 guests. The Pier Restaurant will be open at 3pm to accommodate guests and a cash bar will be available. Drinks purchased at The Pier Restaurant will be allowed to be consumed on the boat tour.
$30 per person, approximately 45-minute boat tour
Cost not included in Workshop registration fee.

4:00 pm- 4:45 pm Historic Walking Tour of Harbor Springs
Members of the Harbor Springs Historical Society will lead us on this complimentary tour of downtown Harbor Springs. The tour will begin and conclude at the location of our Meet & Greet, The Pier Restaurant.
